PART-TIME JOURNALIST

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for a part-time journalist to join our team of content creators at Remember Media. You will be responsible for producing high-quality content for both print and digital platforms, working across Luxe magazine and the Luxe website, as well as publications created for clients.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and will have proven experience of writing for both print and online – covering a wide range of lifestyle subjects from arts and culture to food and drink. They will possess a precise and confident writing style and will be able to transform ideas into content in a very fast-paced environment. It is essential that candidates are deadline-focused with excellent attention to detail.

If you are passionate about writing and producing well-researched lifestyle content, have your finger firmly on the culture pulse, and are excited about exploring everything the region has to offer, then this position could be ideal for you.

You will be based at Remember Media’s office near Durham.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and create content for Luxe magazine and the Luxe website

• Organise regular content and ideas meetings

• Create engaging and inspiring original content for our wider client publications

• Assist editors in research and copywriting across the business

We are looking for someone who is deadline-driven and can flourish in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be confident and ambitious with excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Candidates must be educated to degree level and have previous experience of as a writer/journalist in the lifestyle sector. They must have experience in InDesign, Photoshop and WordPress. The candidate will have an excellent command of the English language, knowledge of social media marketing and exceptional attention to detail. You will be a confident, personable professional with a natural journalistic flair.

This role will require some business travel for meetings/events etc.

WHAT WE OFFER:

The usual benefits include a competitive salary, expenses and holidays. In this part-time role, the candidate will be required to work in the Remember Media offices three full days per week, 9am – 5pm. We can be flexible on days.

SALARY:

Competitive pro rata salary.

EDITORIAL INTERN

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for a dedicated individual with an interest in writing, editing and luxury lifestyle subjects, to join our team of content creators as an editorial intern (1-3 months) at Remember Media. The intern will contribute to the production of Luxe magazine, its digital platforms and our wider client publications.

This editorial internship is a great opportunity for budding journalists to get hands-on experience in all areas of magazine production, from planning and brainstorming, to interviewing, writing, fact checking and proofing.

The ideal candidate will be confident, energetic and will have an interest in all lifestyle subjects, from fashion and beauty, to food and drink, arts and culture and more.

You will be based at Remember Media’s office near Durham.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist editors with research/story ideas for Luxe magazine

• Create regular original content for the Luxe website 

• Copy editing and proofreading magazine and web listings

• Share content across the Luxe social channels

• Assist editors with content for our wider client publications

• Work as part of the team as well as independently

ABOUT YOU:

You will be passionate about writing, researching and creating copy. The candidate must be driven, enthusiastic and willing to learn.

We are looking for someone who is confident and ambitious and who will be willing to attend events and meetings. The ideal candidate will be in further education or equivalent and have previous experience of writing for consumer media – be it a blog, magazine, newspaper or website.

You will have a strong interest in arts, culture and current events. You will have excellent writing and proofreading skills, the ability to turn copy around quickly and will be able to work effectively as a team.

Experience in Macs, InDesign, Photoshop and WordPress desired but not required.

WHAT WE OFFER:

This is a an unpaid internship (1-3 months), however we will cover travel expenses for any meetings and events outside of the office. This is a great opportunity for a budding journalist to gain hands-on experience and make their mark as a writer in the publishing industry. Internship office hours are Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm.
