BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER CONTRACT PUBLISHING

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for a commercially astute seasoned business development manager, who can get to grips with a client’s objectives instantly. You will need to be able to identify opportunities, to nurture them and ultimately convert them.

You will be dealing with sophisticated and discerning clients who will have impeccable standards themselves and expect the same in others. Business will be done, face to face, over the phone and via skype.

You will handle all in bound enquiries and proactively seek out and qualify new leads and opportunities.  You will need to be able to report on sales figures and forecasts and liaise with other members of the sales team. Once you have brought a new client on board you will have the opportunity to grow that client into a long term partner for the business.

As a key member of the business development team you will need to ensure that our sales credentials are up to date both on our website and in our presentation packs and research and prepare your own and others tailored pitch documents.

You will be based at Remember Media office near Durham.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sales through calls, email communication and meetings to comprehensively cover your client base and establish long-lasting relationships

• Hit competitive revenue targets

• Maintain the client list of current and prospective customer

• Manage and nurture weekly pipeline target

• Work as part of the team as well as independently

ABOUT YOU:

You will be passionate about high quality publishing, content, brand and creativity.  Be capable of and enjoy consultative selling and possess a natural ability to prioritise and delegate as and when required.  You will thrive when you spot a networking opportunity and you will enjoy the intellectual rigor when negotiating with other skilled negotiators.

We are looking for someone who is confident and ambitious and who has outstanding verbal and written communications skills.

Personality will go a long way in this role and you must be at ease in any environment and enjoy meeting people and building relationships but at the same time have a sense of fun.  Ideally you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have previous experience of business development in the luxury goods and services sector.

This role will require some business travel.

You will need to instantly understand many different business sectors, quickly assess the competitive landscape of each and then consultatively develop appropriate solutions for our clients.
